Curfew check leads to arrest

A Vernon RCMP conducted a check at 1 a.m. Tuesday on an individual bound by the courts of a daily curfew

A curfew check has led to more trouble for a Vernon man.

A Vernon RCMP conducted a check at 1 a.m. Tuesday on an individual bound by the courts of a daily house curfew between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.

“While our officer was walking by a window, he looked in and noticed the suspect cutting a substance with a razor blade,” said Gord Molendyk, Vernon RCMP detachment spokesperson

Several other people were in the residence at the time as well.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested and returned to cells, and  a search warrant was obtained for the residence.

The suspect is expected to appear in Vernon Provincial Court to answer to drug charges.

The other people in the residence were released without charges.
