A trial date has finally been set for five alleged members of a Vernon gang.

Jury selection for a trial involving the five men, allegedly members of a gang referred to by RCMP as The Greeks, will run April 6 to 8 in Vancouver.

The trial, to be held in B.C. Supreme Court in Vancouver, is slated to start April 26.

It is anticipated that the trial could last up to a year.

The five men – Pete Manalakos, Jr., Dale Sipes, Sheldon O’Donnell, Leslie Podolski and Douglas Brownell – are facing murder- and drug-related charges in connection with a string of homicides in the North Okanagan in 2004 and 2005.
