Employees at Lake City Casino have a new contract.

A binding settlement has been reached between the company and members of the B.C. Government and Service Employees Union, including in Vernon.

“The agreement expires Sept. 4, 2017 and replaces a contract that expired a year ago,” said Karen Tankard, BCGEU communications officer.

Workers are getting pay increases each year of about 25 to 35 cents per hour.

“They will get the first pay increase this month — roughly 60 cents per hour for a new raise and retroactive pay from last year,” said Tankard.
