Almost seven weeks after a woman lost her leg after getting run over by a vehicle, the driver has been arrested.

On Thursday, April 27, a 56-year old woman lost her leg after being struck by a vehicle around 3 a.m. in the 2500-block on Enterprise Way. When the RCMP were conducting their investigation, a Jeep SVU with significant damage was found on a trail beside the road. The driver was nowhere to be seen. Allegedly, the driver was seen driving erratically moments before they crashed.

On Wednesday morning (June 14), Kelowna RCMP Media Relations Officer Const. Mike Della-Paolera confirmed to Capital News that they were able to identify the owner of the vehicle and confirmed they were the driver at the time of the crash.

It’s unknown how many charges the driver faces or what they are.
