A driver managed to get out of his vehicle after it caught fire on Duncan Avenue East near the Rona on Tuesday morning.

Around 10:20 a.m., Penticton Fire rushed to the scene where a grey sedan had flames coming from the engine.

Luckily the vehicle was parked away from other cars and buildings. Firefighters managed to put out the flames quickly.

As of 10:50 a.m., Duncan was closed in both directions at the Advantage Mini Storage and Hyundai dealership.

The vehicle is expected to be towed away and firefighters should open up the road soon.
