What started a fire inside a dryer at a Spallumcheen home Monday night is undetermined at this point.
Armstrong Spallumcheen Fire Department sent 18 members and four trucks to the 500 block of Otter Lake Road just before midnight, after the occupant of the home returned from being out to find her home on fire.
“The fire started in the dryer,” said fire chief Ian Cummings Tuesday. “There was extensive damage done to the laundry room and smoke damage to the house.”
Firefighters were on-scene for a couple of hours.
The fire remains under investigation.
