It’s estimated there are 7,330 eligible voters in the Central Okanagan West Electoral Area Director election.  The total number of ballots cast is 510.  The results of the election will not be officially declared by the Chief Election Officer until Wednesday, November 23rd by 4:00 pm.

 

Voters within the North Westside Fire Protection District Service Area also had the opportunity to vote on the following referendum question:

“Are you in favour of the Regional District of Central Okanagan adopting Bylaw No. 1294 to establish a service area within a portion of Central Okanagan West Electoral Area to operate and maintain the Killiney Community Hall, at an annual cost not to exceed $0.05 per $1000 of assessed value of land and improvements on properties within the service area?”

The result of the referendum vote is:

Yes – 174 (61.5%)

No – 109 (38.5%)

The Regional Board is expected to consider the results at an upcoming meeting.
