Edgson seeks Westside re-election

Jim Edgson says he doesn’t mind being busy.

Edgson, who was first elected four years ago, is pursuing another term as North Westside Road director for the Regional District of Central Okanagan.

“There are several projects underway that I’d like to continue on with,” he said.

Among them is a way of extending Okanagan Regional Library service into the area.

“Hopefully we can upgrade the community facility already out here,” he said.

Edgson is also working with a group of residents looking at the feasibility of perhaps establishing a school.

Another interest is an economic development initiative that would see agriculture reintroduced at Fintry.

The regional district is also in the midst of establishing a new water utility in the Upper Fintry, Shalal Road and Valley of the Sun subdivisions.

Edgson is retired from the oil industry and he has owned land in the North Westside for 40 years, permanently living there since 1998.

He says his goal is to represent the needs of the community and to ensure their interests are promoted at the regional board table.

“I’m always going around to see if something is needed in the community,” he said.
