What is the No. 1 issue in Enderby and why should residents vote for you as mayor?
I believe the number one issue for our community is that of downtown revitalization. Now that the highway through town is nearing completion, we have a wonderful opportunity to capitalize on the fact we finally have access to Enderby that won’t represent gridlock. We need to come together as a community to decide what we want the downtown area to look like, then work to achieve the funding required to get the job done. An attractive, bustling downtown area with easy access to parking will encourage people to stop by, shop, recreat and perhaps stay awhile. It will encourage people to want to invest in a business here and decide to settle here.
People should vote for me because I have demonstrated the leadership skills to galvanize citizens of Enderby to work towards this goal, to build something we can all be proud of.
Dee Wejr (incumbent)
One of the most important items to be taken care of is a storm drain review and replacement, which is necessary to prevent future flooding. We have completed a number of short-term fixes and are now working with an engineer for the long term. Other long-term plans include having a strategy in place for regular upgrades to our entire infrastructure.
I have three years as Enderby’s current mayor and nine years experience as a councillor. I understand how local government works. I love small town life and the amazing community spirit shown by our residents and the many volunteer groups that are so vital to our city. As a team player I believe in working closely with my councillors, CAO and other community organizations.
My past accomplishments as mayor are the proof of my commitment and hard work for Enderby and residents.
