Although water levels are receding along the Shuswap River, officials are asking residents to remain on alert.
The B.C. River Forecast center still has the Shuswap River at Mabel Lake and downstream, including around Enderby, posted under a flood watch.
“As long as it remains in the flood watch stage, the alert will remain in effect,” said Gord Molendyk, with the North Okanagan’s emergency operations centre.
The initial disaster financial assistance application for the region has now been processed and forwarded to the provincial government for its approval.
“Local residents in the affected areas will be advised if and when it has been approved,” said Molendyk.
“The North Okanagan Regional District is reminding everyone that is doing clean up and repairs to their properties affected by flooding, to save all of your receipts and document the work with photographs.”
