Silver Star Mountain Resort is jamming as many mountain bike activities into this coming weekend as possible.
The Two Wheel Festival runs Saturday and Sunday, and it includes Ryan Leech putting on trials shows at 1 p.m. both days.
“What Ryan can do with a bike is incredible and needs to be seen to be believed,” said Ian Galbraith, summer business manager.
“Ryan’s shows are free to watch as is the Camp of Champions air bag which is conveniently located beside the deck of the Bulldog Hotel.”
The Camp of Champions giant mountain bike air bag is for jumping into without really having to worry about landing. The public can try the air bag out for a donation of a non-perishable food item to the Vernon food bank.
The air bag will be at the front of the village from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
Norco Bicycles will also be in the resort showing off its 2012 lineup of new bikes.
There will also be a chance to chat with Norco pro riders Sam Dueck, Brett Rheeder and Ryan Leech.
“We’ve also fired up the old Dag’s Downhill course and will be running a fun DH Race complete with digital timing,” said Galbraith.
The race runs Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
And the main event of the weekend will be the Silver Style Jump Jam Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.
“For the past week, the Silver Star trail crew and some dedicated volunteers have been working hard to create a new jump line for the rider-judged event,” said Galbraith.
“The venue is very visible from the village and will be really spectator-friendly.”
More than 70 competitors are expected during the Silver Style Jump Jam and they will be hitting two lines in a jam format.
