Fire destroys three vehicles

Police and Vernon Fire Rescue Services were called to Davison Road shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday

Vernon RCMP are investigating a suspicious fire off of Bella Vista Road Wednesday.

Police and Vernon Fire Rescue Services were called to a property on Davison Road shortly before 4 a.m. where three vehicles – a station wagon, van and utility-type truck – were engulfed in flames.

“We believe this incident is suspicious in nature,” said Vernon RCMP Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy.

The three vehicles were destroyed with plastic and rubber parts melted.

They were being stored on the property, owned by Monty Davis Sr., who said his son was notified of the fire.

“I’m not sure why they targeted these ones,” he said.

“He (son) thought the fire started in the centre and then moved over (to the other two vehicles).”

Hay and wood piled next to the vehicles were scorched.

Anybody with any information on the fire is asked to call the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
