Flooding shuts down Vernon library

A pipe burst in the branch Sunday night and caused significant water damage on the main floor.

The Vernon branch of Okanagan Regional Library will be closed until further notice.

A pipe burst in the branch Sunday night and caused significant water damage on the main floor.

“Restoration crews are in the building and working hard in order to be able to reopen the branch as soon as possible,” said Michele Rule, ORL communications manager.

“The book returns will also be closed during this time. Patrons that have books due during the closure are asked to please hold on them until the branch reopens or return them to another branch.”

Information about reopening will be posted as available at www.orl.bc.ca as well as through ORL’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Other branches in the area include Falkland, Armstrong, Lumby, Oyama and Lake Country.

“Patrons are welcome, as always, to visit any of these branches,” said Rule.
