Foster declared winner

Incumbent Liberal candidate tops Vernon-Monashee polls

Liberal blue has swept across Vernon-Monashee.

Canadian Press has declared incumbent Eric Foster as the winner of Tuesday’s election in the constituency.

“I’m feeling great. My crew did a great job for me,” said Foster.

“The people of Vernon-Monashee have bene most generous again.”

In Vernon-Monashee with 95 of of 119 polls reporting:

New Democrat Barry Dorval - 6,329

Liberal Eric Foster - 10,432

Libertarian Don Jefcoat - 268

Green Keli Westgate - 4,628

Foster is closely watching the provincial results.

“Boy it’s tight. Numbers are going back and forth. We are up by a couple, I would like to see a couple of more,” he said.
