Get ready to rock at the North Okanagan’s largest music festival.

The lineup for the June 26 to 29 Funtastic A&W Music Festival has been announced and it includes Bif Naked, Moist and tribute bands BC/DC (AC/DC), The Nightrain (Guns N’ Roses) and Leggz (ZZ Top).

“The festival is an integral component of the Funtastic slow-pitch tournament, drawing up to 6,000 patrons an evening,” said Wee Yee, Funtastic executive director.

Bif Naked, who will be the lead act on Friday night, known for such hits as I Love Myself Today and more recently The Only One, has toured North America and Europe and shared the bill with Snoop Dogg, Billy Idol, Sarah McLachlan, Chrissie Hynde and the Foo Fighters.

On Saturday, it’s tribute night and BC/DC will bring AC/DC hits to the stage while The Nightrain pays homage to Guns N’ Roses and Leggz covers the hits from ZZ Top.

On Sunday, the main act is Moist, a ‘90s alternative band that has won Junos and MuchMusic Video awards for songs such as Push and Resurrection.

Among the other acts during the festival are The Goods, The Young ‘uns, The Dirt, Shawn Lightfoot Band and Hog Wild.

A&W Music Festival tickets go on sale May 11 at Funtastic’s office at 3401 35th Ave. or online at funtasticsports.ca.

Tickets are available as a $25 daily pass or a $50 weekend pass for all three days of the music festival.

“All money raised is redistributed back to the community through the community grant program,” said Yee. “To date Funtastic has given back more than $1.6 million to non-profit organizations, clubs and service clubs.”
