Volunteers are needed for Friday's Canada Day celebrations in Greater Vernon.

Help is still needed behind the scenes for Greater Vernon’s Canada Day celebrations.

Volunteers are needed for the daytime activities at Polson Park and during the evening fireworks at Kal Beach.

“For the daytime events, we need a setup crew from 8 to 10 a.m. and take-down crew from 4 to 6 p.m., along with about 12 to 15 volunteers for daytime event activities such as running the dunk tank, opening and closing the gates for the horses and helping with turnover on the stages,” said Sherrilee Franks, with the North Okanagan Canada Day Society.

“For the daytime events, we have a sign up sheet available at www.volunteersignup.org/YLQBD.”

For the fireworks, a group is needed to help direct traffic in the parking lot and a handful of people to help with security along the beach and on the dock.

“We could also use some help with people in kayaks in the water,” said Franks.

Volunteer registration for the fireworks is www.volunteersignup.org/Y8JA3.
