Greater Vernon leaders take to the podium

Coldstream and Vernon's mayors as well as the RDNO chairperson will speak to the chamber

The Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce is set to host three of the top local government leaders in the area as part of its Local Government Leadership Breakfast.

The event Wednesday will see Venron Mayor Akbal Mund, Coldstream Mayor Jim Garlick and Regional District of North Okanagan chairperson Rick Fairbairn provide updates on local issues and priorities.

“It is a great way to get a snapshot of what the priorities are for the newly elected local governments for what is now a four-year term,” said Dan Rogers, GVCC general manager.

“Our members and the business community are keen to get updates from Coldstream and the RDNO but most eager to hear what the newest politician in the area, Mayor Mund has to say now that he has been at the helm at the City of Vernon for six months.”

The event takes place at the Village Green Hotel.  Anyone interested in attending the breakfast can still purchase a ticket through the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce at info@vernonchamber.ca or by phone at 250-545-0771.
