A climber who fell off a cliff in the Bear Cave Crags area north of the Myra Canyon Adventure Park southeast of Kelowna, was airlifted to hospital Sunday evening.
Ian Wilson of West Kelowna’s Wildcat Helicopters, whose B.C. Air Rescue helicopter was called in to lift the climber and a paramedic to safety, said the injured man was taken directly to Kelowna General Hospital for treatment.
While the extent of his injuries were not immediately known, Wilson said the man was conscious and able to talk when he was winched aboard the helicopter.
The helicopter was called in around 7:15 p.m. Sunday, said Wilson, after paramedics reached the man on the ground.
