The cause of a fire that forced a Vernon family out of their home remains unknown.
Presently, the Vernon Fire Department says the blaze in the 3000 block of 38th Street Saturday at 5:22 a.m. is undetermined.
“There is considerable damage because of the heat,” said Lawrie Skolrood, deputy fire chief.
“There are several theories so we need some laboratory work done.”
A private lab at the Lower Mainland has been commissioned to investigate the evidence further.
Skolrood isn’t sure when test results may be available.
The fire’s point of origin has been determined but no details are being provided while the investigation is underway.
