Identity confirmed of deceased Lumby man

A Lumby resident died in an accident near Golden Sept. 28.

The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who died after a motor vehicle accident near Golden Sept. 28.

Ralph Alexander Coombs, 62, of Lumby, was the driver and sole occupant of a commercial transport truck that was headed eastbound on Highway 1 shortly after noon.

About 30 kilometres west of Golden, the vehicle went out of control and down a 20-metre embankment. Coombs died at the scene.

The coroners service and the RCMP continue to investigate the accident.
