A climber at Skaha Bluffs had to be rescued and taken to the hospital after they fell on the rocks below on Thursday morning.

First responders were called to the popular climbing site shortly after 10:30 a.m. for reports of a person who had fallen and been badly injured in the fall.

Search and Rescue and BC Emergency Health Services were called to the scene alongside the Penticton Fire Department which hiked in to first assess the climber.

A helicopter was called in for a longline rescue of the injured climber, but due to delays Penticton Search and Rescue brought up a rope team for the rescue.
