Vernon residents can learn more about infrastructure projects moving ahead.

The City of Vernon will host a 2017 capital projects consultation meeting Jan. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Vernon Recreation Complex.

"The meeting will provide the opportunity for residents and businesses to review the capital projects scheduled for construction in 2017, as well as discuss any concerns with the project team regarding the design, road closures, timing of construction or other issues," said Tanya Laing Gahr, communications officer.

Some of the projects for this year are a cycling corridor on Kalamalka Road from 14th Avenue to Coldstream, road and utility rehabilitation on 30th Street from 30th to 34th avenues and reconstruction of 35th Avenue from 24th to 27th streets.

"Interested residents and business owners not able to attend the meeting and who would like more information regarding a project may contact the infrastructure management department at 250-550-3634," said Laing Gahr.
