Whitevale Water Utility customers might experience an interruption to their water service next week.

Maintenance work has been planned at the Whitevale Water Treatment Plant on Tuesday, April 5, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. which may impact water quality and supply, the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) said Friday.

“It is anticipated that the work will be completed during this time frame unless unforeseen circumstances arise which could extend this interruption,” the RDNO said in a press release.

Customers may experience turbidity in the form of cloudy water, air in the water or temporary loss of water, and may wish to have a short term supply of water on hand before the maintenance begins.

Those who notice turbidity or air in the water are advised to run a cold water tap at low volume until the water has cleared once service has been restored.

Questions can be directed to the RDNO Utilities Department at 250-550-3700.
