Lumby agency ready to raise $800,000

Fundraiser's goal is to provide stability for much-needed programs in the community

Residents of Lumby,Cherryville and the entire North Okanagan are being urged to support community programs.

The Whitevalley Community Resource Centre hopes to raise $800,000 over five years for its Legacy Fund campaign. The principle will remain in an endowment fund and the interest generated each year will help cover operational expenses for the non-profit agency.

“In a time of ever-increasing budget cuts to social services, it is essential the organization not only raises funds to meet current needs but to ensure that the future needs of the community are met,” said Joanne Kineshanko, campaign co-chairperson.
