Lumby area motorist identified

Kenneth Gregg Fisher, 69, of Lumby, died when his vehicle went into the Shuswap River

The B.C. Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man who  died after a motor vehicle incident in Lumby in the North Okanagan June 14.

He was Kenneth Gregg Fisher, 69, of Lumby.

Fisher was the driver and sole occupant of a pickup truck, which was  driving northbound downhill on Shuswap River Drive, a gravel road, at about 8 p.m. when the vehicle left the road and rolled down an  embankment into the Shuswap River.

At the time, the river was running very high and was very turbulent, so recovery could not be completed immediately. As the river level declined, recovery became possible and was completed July 31.

The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services continue to investigate the death.
