Lumby man charged in fatal Saskatchewan accident

A Lumby man is facing three charges in connection with a motor-vehicle accident that left two people dead.

A Lumby man has been charged in connection with a fatal accident in Saskatchewan.

Watrous RCMP are investigating a fatal single vehicle rollover which occurred on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 11:30 a.m. local time on Highway 2 north of the Village of Young, Sask., which is about 100 kilometres southeast of Saskatoon.

One woman, 29, from Watrous, Sask., and a 28-year-old man from High River, Alta., were killed in the accident.

Two men were sent to hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Kiel Stewart, 29, has been charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.

Stewart was released from custody after appearing in Saskatoon Provincial Court Friday. His next scheduled court appearance is Nov. 3.
