A female convenience store clerk in Lumby was held at knife point early Sunday morning.

A lone male entered the Mac’s in Lumby around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

“The man had locked the door leading outside, and held a knife to the female employee, forcing her to sit on the floor behind the till for a period of time,” said Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy, RCMP spokesperson.

An undisclosed amount of cash, lottery tickets and cigarettes were stolen.

The suspect is described as 5’6”, a medium build wearing a grey or light brown hooded sweatshirt, blue or black pants, dark running shoes with a white line on the sole, a black mask covering his lower face, sunglasses and black and yellow mechanic gloves.

“This was a violent robbery where the female employee was forcibly confined and threatened with a knife,” said Noseworthy.

“Although not physically injured the employee has been significantly traumatized by this incident.”
