The identity of an individual found in Vernon Creek has been released.
On Saturday morning, two people walking along a short trail between 24th Avenue and 34A Street spotted John Holowaty, 47, lying in the creek.
They immediately notified the authorities, but Holowaty, who was most recently from Falkland, was deceased at the scene.
The B.C. Coroners Service and RCMP continue to investigate to determine the cause of death but foul play has been ruled out.
