Equipment failure has delayed some of the snow clearing in Vernon.
Snow removal on 27th Street was impacted Wednesday after mechanical difficulties with the city’s large loader-driven snow blower.
“The blower was repaired late Wednesday and snow removal in the downtown core resumed during the night and into Thursday morning,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, communications co-ordinator.
“The removal of snow from road edges and sidewalks on 27th Street and 32nd Street is now scheduled for Thursday and Friday nights.”
Since the snow storm earlier this week, all residential streets and cul-de-sacs have now been plower and sanded.
“City and contract forces will be starting the cleanup of bus stops Thursday. This work will continue into next week,” said Laing Gahr.
“Visibility at intersections may be reduced due to snow accumulation. Motorists are reminded to use caution and to watch for pedestrians.”
