Police say it was a medical issue that caused a fatal logging truck accident Nov. 28.

Lumby RCMP report that a post-mortem on Stanley James Nelson, 56, of Coldstream, showed Nelson suffered a heart attack which apparently caused him to drive his truck off the road.

Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident happened 83 kilometres up the Mohr Forest Service Road, which runs about 30 kilometres up the Kettle Valley Forest Service Road off Highway 6 near the village.

Nelson’s truck was found by the next logging vehicle going up the road, and was reported to police around 3 a.m.
