The fire response team at Tolko’s Lavington mill did its job Saturday.

A fire was discovered in the Rosser Head (debarker) building at around 1:30 a.m.

The fire alarm was sounded and the mill’s fire response team quickly went to work.

“The Tolko crew zipped out and they hit it hard,” said Lavington Fire Department Chief Mike Fiset, whose crews assisted in quickly extinguishing the fire.

There were no injuries but some building structure damage did occur in the fire.
