Vernon RCMP are investigating the broad daylight theft of a Honda self-propelled mower from the back of the Canadian Mental Health Association‘s offices on 28th Avenue.

The theft occurred sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday.

“I just picked up the mower from having it serviced,” said Zane Klym with Canadian Mental Health. “That mower is one of five that we use for in-house employment, We’re just a couple of weeks away from starting lawn cutting.”

The thief may have been caught on video surveillance from a neighbouring business, as a person can be seen pushing what looks like a lawn mower with their right hand, and pushing a bicycle with their left hand.

A non-profit organization, Canadian Mental Health would like to get the mower back.

Anybody with any information on the theft is asked to call the Vernon RCMP at 250-545-7171.
