Vernon RCMP are looking for a missing Vernon man.

The police detachment received a call at about 10 a.m. Wednesday from the family of the individual who had not returned home from a motorbike excursion Tuesday.

He was operating a grey-and-white Pinster motorbike.

“He went riding at about 4 p.m. yesterday (Tuesday),” said Vernon RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk.

“He was not wearing a helmet, but was wearing a brown shirt, jeans and a black ball cap. His family is very concerned as he is not a very experienced rider.”

Police said the man told his family he was going riding in the Commonage area but he has not returned.

“The family says it is out of the norm for him not to come home last evening,” said Molendyk.

The police are asking anyone who might have seen a person matching this description riding a dirt bike yesterday from the Mission hill area to the Commonage as far as Predator Ridge to please call the Vernon detachment at 250-545-7171 so officers can follow up on it.
