Tim Hortons in Armstrong will be getting some commercial neighbours.
The city unanimously approved a development permit application from Emil Anderson Construction to build a commercial retail building at 2105 Harding Rd., which is right beside Tim Hortons.
“The proposed building is intended to be built to contain three commercial units,” said Coun. Paul Britton.
The actual use of the building is not known at this point though it is indicated on the planning report that general retail stores are accepted in the C2 highway and service commercial zone.
Among the permitted uses in the zone are businesses like animal clinics, car washes, drive-in food services, equipment rentals, gas bars hotels, motel, and offices.
The proposal is phase two of a three-phase commercial development planned for the property. A previous development permit for phase one addressed the form and character of the existing Tim Hortons restaurant on the east side of the proposed building.
