Motorcyclist injured on Westside Road

A motorcyclist was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital Sunday morning after a crash on Westside Road

A motorcyclist was airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital Sunday morning after a crash on Westside Road.

Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP say the 47-year-old woman, a resident of Westside Road, was travelling toward Vernon with another motorcyclist at around 10:15 a.m. when a deer bounded onto the road.

The woman swerved her bike off the road to avoid colliding with the animal.

The motorcyclist is believed to have suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

Police say speed and alcohol are not factors in the accident and no charges are expected to be laid.
