A motorist was uninjured after a significant accident in the North Okanagan.

On Sunday at 10:50 a.m., emergency personnel were called to a single-vehicle collision on Westside Road, one kilometre from Highway 97.

The vehicle was entangled in high tension power lines.

“Two hydro poles sustained severe damage and B.C. Hydro was contacted to attend the scene,” states the Vernon Fire Department.

The 19-year-old driver, and lone occupant, had lost control of the vehicle, which went off the road and flipped on its roof.

“The driver did not sustain any injuries, but the vehicle was extensively damaged,” said Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy, with the RCMP.
