Motorists issued warning

The City of Vernon is reminding drivers that only buses are allowed to enter the transit exchange on 31st Avenue

Motorists are getting in the way of transit drivers.

The City of Vernon is reminding drivers that only buses are allowed to enter the transit exchange on 31st Avenue between 30th and 31st streets.

“With the current frequency of drivers illegally entering the transit exchange and the danger it presents to public safety, the RCMP will be paying increased attention to this area,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, the city’s communications officer.

The sani-dump station at the Vernon Visitor Centre (3004 39 Avenue) is now open to for public use, and will remain open until the fall. The closing date will be weather dependent.
