Austin Roest and Steel Quiring each scored three times to lead the Vernon Watkin Motors Mustangs to a 12-0 romp over the Calgary Glenlake Hawks in the opening game of the 45th annual Vernon Winter Carnival Coca Cola Classic Pee Wee Hockey Tournament Thursday morning at the Civic Arena.

Jacob Boden scored twice for Vernon, who led 3-0 and 6-0 by periods.

Connor Elliott, Zackary Funk, Porter Trevelyan and Jarred Feist had the other Mustangs goals while Cayden Hamming and Teja Sheldrake shared the shutout in goal.

Vernon takes on the Idaho Jr. Steelheads at 6 p.m., right after the opening ceremonies at 5:30 p.m.
