Leadership changes are official at the Enderby Fire Department.

City council has appointed Cliff Vetter as the new fire chief, replacing Kevin Alstad who has moved to Sparwood.

“He’s been in the community forever and he’s done something of everything with the department,” said Mayor Greg McCune of Vetter, who has been with the department for 20 years and was most recently the deputy chief.

“He’s done both the administrative side and the training side.”

Richard Bastiaansen has also been named as the deputy chief. He will also remain as the training officer.
