Market season has arrived in downtown Vernon with a twist.
The inaugural Curbside Market runs Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. on 30th Avenue.
“The Curbside Night Market is a once a month block party held on the last Friday of the month from May to August on 30th Avenue,” said Hailey Rilkoff, with the Downtown Vernon Association.
“Each night market will feature a live band from 7 to 9 p.m., and the block will be filled with late night shopping, community groups and street eats.”
Friday’s performer will be Blackberry Wood.
“They are a wonderful, secret and magic combination of ol’ vaudevillian jazz, gypsy circus music and foot-stompin’ old style country,” said Rilkoff.
“A reputation for high-energy and exciting cabaret style shows follows Blackberry Wood every stage they’re on.”
Night market stalls will include Birch Hill Studio, Olive Us Oil and Vinegar tastings, Colour Time ceramics studio, MMJ Total Health Care, and Spinners Sound Centre in addition to visiting vendors.
