It’s up, up and away for a new group.
The 2017 Vernon Winter Hot Air Balloon Rally will be organized by the North Okanagan Hot Air Balloon Society during Vernon Winter Carnival Feb. 2 to 5.
“The society was formed earlier in 2016 by longtime volunteers who have helped organize this rally over the last 24 years,” said president Jerry Brassard.
The non-profit society’s purpose is to promote hot air balloon events in the North Okanagan.
“Balloon rallies bring together the community in a family-friendly environment,” said David Gleed, event director.
“Those same rallies bring in tourists to view the balloons and enjoy the Winter Carnival in Vernon.”
