The Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP will be out in force on New Year’s Eve.
Communities can expect to see road blocks, roving traffic patrols and foot patrols of bar areas, as well as the usual policing efforts Thursday.
“We encourage everyone to plan ahead so you can safely ring in the new year,” said Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy, spokesperson for the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP
“Organize a designated driver, Driving Hands (Vernon company), a cab, or plans to stay at a friend’s house.”
RCMP encourage anyone who witnesses any criminal activity to phone their local police detachment, or 911 immediately.
They can also report information anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
