Flooding has forced the closure of Old Town Bay Road.
District of Sicamous operations manager Joe McCulloch said a couple of blocked culverts has caused water to run over the road. Staff is currently working on the culverts and McCulloch couldn’t estimate when the road would reopen, only saying, “not anytime soon.”
Meanwhile, a large portion of Highway 97A has also flooded. The highway remains closed due to a mudslide in Grindrod, with no estimated time of reopening. Highway 1 is also closed due to a mudslide near Canoe. Again, there is no estimated time of reopening.
