Nominations for a Nov. 19 byelection close Friday in Armstrong.

There is some interest in filling a vacant Armstrong council seat.

One individual has filed nomination papers so far for the Nov. 19 byelection (the name has not been released by the city).

And it’s not known if there will be any further nominations by the Friday deadline.

“There is interest out there,” said Coun. Shirley Fowler.

“I have talked to two or three people and they were interested in information about the job, and it’s always towards the end when nominations come in.”

The byelection is needed to fill the council seat vacated by the May death of Ron (Sully) O’Sullivan.

The nomination process began Oct. 4.

Nomination packages are available at city hall and at www.cityofarmstrong.bc.ca.
