The North Okanagan Shuswap Federal Liberals are hosting an afternoon social with a member of Parliament.

Anita Vandenbeld, from Ottawa West-Nepean, will be at Vernon’s Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery Aug. 27 from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

“Ms. Vandenbeld is the chair of the Liberal Party’s women’s caucus and is an international expert on democracy and human rights,” said Monica Kriese, with the local riding association.

“She has spent more than 10 years upholding the democratic values of freedom, diversity, and social equality, focused on parliamentary development, political parties and women’s political participation.”

The social is free but donations will be collected to cover costs. RSVPs at 250-833-6100 or monicakriese@gmail.com are appreciated to assist the caterer.
