A popular Vernon amenity has a date with a bulldozer.
Work to revitalize the Centennial Outdoor Rink begins Thursday, with the demolition of the boards, fencing and lighting poles until March 27.
“While demolition work is underway, access around the rink will be restricted for safety reasons,” said Tanya Laing Gahr, with the city.
“Visitors to the recreation complex are asked to avoid the area and use alternative entrances.”
The project to revitalize the rink was approved by city council in 2016 and the budget is $160,000.
