Greater Vernon's Canada Day fireworks will blast off from Kal Beach in Coldstream July 1.

Steps are being taken to ensure traffic jams are kept to a minimum Canada Day.

The North Okanagan Canada Day Society, which is organizing the July 1 fireworks at Kal Beach, has established a free shuttle service from 8 to 11:30 p.m.

“There will be a continuous bus shuttle from two locations with round-trip service to and from Kal Beach,” said Terry Schmauder, with the society.

There will be pick up at Craftsman Collision (2727 35th Ave.) every 30 minutes, and every 20 minutes from Okanagan College.

The Craftsman Collision Canada Day fireworks start at 10:30 p.m.

“Come early and bring a picnic, lawn chairs, flashlight and blankets,” said Schmauder.
