Pedestrian fatally struck by semi in Kamloops

The incident happened early Monday morning on Highway 1

A pedestrian is dead after being struck by a semi-truck and another vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway in Kamloops.

The incident happened at about 4:20 a.m. Monday.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene and Highway 1 was closed for a period of time while the coroner and traffic analyst investigated.

Highway 1 was reopened at about 8 a.m.

Police are working to identify the victim and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.

If anyone has any information regarding this incident they are asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
