Pedestrian taken to hospital after Vernon accident

RCMP were called to 25th Avenue and Highway 6 at about 7:38 a.m. Thursday

A Vernon pedestrian was taken to hospital after being hit by a vehicle Thursday morning.

RCMP were called to 25th Avenue and Highway 6 at about 7:38 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle striking a senior citizen walking in the area.

"The pedestrian fell, struck his head and was taken to hospital," said Cpl. Joe Leeson.

The extent of the injuries are unknown.

The vehicle was being driven by a senior citizen.

"The incident is under investigation. There could be the possibility of charges under the Motor Vehicle Act," said Leeson.
