Pickup truck lands in ditch

It took a couple of hours, but police found the driver of a vehicle that ended up in a ditch near Vernon Thursday.

It took a couple of hours, but police found the driver of a vehicle that ended up in a ditch near Vernon Thursday.

Police responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover involving a white Chevrolet pickup near the intersection of Commonage and Bailey roads at about 2 a.m.

They found the vehicle but no occupants.

The driver was later located and he told police he had been hiking to a friend’s place near Predator Ridge.

Police did not see anybody while making patrols of the area after the crash.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
